I’m loving my new MIDI Controller but the user manual that comes in the box needs some extra information, and unfortunately there isn’t lots of information on the internet, yet, so I thought i would put a quick guide in case someone needs some more clarity.

Head over to my insta and ask me questions.

Here I cover:

  • Where to find M-Vave Software (MIDISuite) to customise your MIDI Controller.
  • How to set up the MIDI Controller with bluetooth on your MAC
  • How to setup your M-Vave SMK25 with Ableton

Where to find M-Vave Software (MIDISuite) to customise your MIDI Controller?

  1. Follow this path www.m-vave.com site and then > Downloads . The software is called MIDISuite Download the latest version for your operating system.
Where to download M-Wave's Software to customise my MIDI Controller?

2. If you get an error [MacOs cannot verify the developer of “MIDISuite”] when trying to open MIDISuite, simple hold ctrl+shift and right click. A new button should appear called ‘Open’. Press that!

3. Make sure your MIDI Controller is connected and you’re good to go!

How to set up the MIDI Controller with bluetooth on your MAC

I was a bit puzzled by this one, but here you go:

  1. Find Audio MIDI Setup in your applications.

2. Go to Window and choose ‘Show Midi Studio’. Your device is called SINCO. Why?

3. A new option should have appeared, MIDI Studio. Go there and click on ‘Open Bluetooth configuration’. All you have to do after there is make sure your M-Vave SMK25 is powered on and ready to synch. You can press the connect button and you’re done!

How to setup your M-vave SMK25 in Ableton Live

In Ableton Live, go to preferences > Link Tempo MIDI. You will find three devices called: SINCO (SMK25 – Master) , SINCO (SMK25 – Private), SINCO (SMK25 – Port 3) , and a fourth one if you paired your MIDI controller with your bluetooth.

In case you’re curious :

  • Private Enable the knobs in their main preset.
  • Port 3 enable : 2nd Knobs + Top Buttons + 2nd Pads
  • Master the main keys

Just enable everything and you are good to go. Or customise the ins/out so that you can MAP the Midi controllers to specific actions in Ableton Live. Up to you!
