Hello friend!
Today I leave digital footprint in this blog to mark the day that my first song was released on Spotify and Apple Music.
This is a huge milestone for me, and I want you to know that many moons I have dreamt to have song published on a paid live streaming platform such as Spotify, Apple Music, etcetera… and now it’s real.
Having my music monetised makes me a professional musician now, and every listen I get going forward will generate some revenue in a way. But oh! You are mistaken if you think that’s the reason why I’m doing this project. I do this because I fucking love music and it gives me the greatest joy in life.
Let me tell you a little bit more about my self…
📢 A marketer by day. 🎸 A musician by night.
I’ve been self-teaching instruments since I was a teenager, I’ve been noodling with music for years while I carry on with my life as a marketer, my main occupation, day job and only source of cash. I’m also passionate about philanthropic endeavours and social responsibility and In the past I’ve hosted a couple of virtual fund-raisers in support of children in financial distress. These fundraisers have been a fantastic way for me to give back to the community, and I have set a personal milestone to set a new one every year. I’ve been asking myself since the beginning of 2021 what would I do this year and while I was waiting for SoundCloud to approve my song in steaming services it hit me! I’m going to donate the profit I generate from these songs to a charity of my choosing.
I know what you’re thinking, how long will I do this for? Look, let’s do something. I’m donating the profit for an entire year (until October 16, 2022). Let’s see how we are then and we’ll decide how we move forward.
